Petroleum Jelly Skin Barrier

Used to protect skin from moisture loss, friction, and environmental exposure when medical supplies are limited and healing must be supported passively.

Petroleum jelly functions as an occlusive barrier. It seals in existing moisture and blocks irritants but does not disinfect or actively heal tissue. Proper cleaning is required before application.

  • Clean cloth or gauze if covering is needed

How to Use It

  1. Clean the affected area thoroughly with clean water and an antiseptic
  2. Dry the skin completely
  3. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly over the area
  4. Reapply as needed to maintain a protective barrier
  5. Cover with gauze if friction or contamination is expected

Warnings
