Is an ounce per 2.5 gallons of gas a minimum is is it more than needed due to the company erroring on the side of caution?

When a product recommends adding an ounce of fuel stabilizer per 2.5 gallons of gasoline, this dosage is generally designed to ensure effectiveness under a wide range of storage conditions and fuel types. Manufacturers often provide dosage recommendations that balance between optimal performance and safety margins, indeed sometimes erring on the side of caution.
