JaseTrauma Kit
The Stop the Bleed kit on top of my bug-out bag
Buy first
Why it's on my list
The trauma kit that rides on top of my bug-out bag and in the overnight loadout: a wide tourniquet, an Israeli compression bandage, hemostatic gauze, a Slishman wrap, a chest seal and a nasal airway, built around real trauma management, not a consumer first aid checklist. Jase's Trauma Pill Pack, prescription medication for infection, inflammation, pain and nausea, completes it.

What it is
A trauma kit for life-threatening emergencies, built around stopping massive bleeding: a tourniquet, a compression bandage, hemostatic and z-fold gauze, a wrap, a chest seal and a nasal airway, with usage instructions included. Jase's Trauma Pill Pack (prescription medication for infection, inflammation, pain and nausea) is sold separately to complete it.
What's in the kit
A Stop the Bleed kit, built around the first ten minutes
This is the kit that rides on top of my bug-out bag and in the overnight loadout, and it earns the spot because it does one job: stop massive bleeding and keep an airway open until help arrives. Jase built it around real trauma management rather than a consumer checklist, which shows in the components: a proper tourniquet, hemostatic gauze, a chest seal, a nasal airway. Field care cards are in the kit so the person holding it has the steps in hand.
Stop the bleeding
Tourniquet, hemostatic gauze, pressure
Why it's included
A limb wound that will not stop needs a tourniquet high and tight, and the ETQ Wide is a real one: a wider compression band than the usual strap, a compact fold, one-handed application. For the wounds a tourniquet cannot reach, the kaolin hemostatic gauze packs into the wound and speeds the clot, the four feet of z-fold compressed gauze is the amount a serious wound actually takes, and the compression bandage and Slishman pressure wrap hold the pressure on so your hands are free. The Slishman doubles as a splint tie and fits a child or a dog. Tourniquets, wound packing and airways are skills: take a Stop the Bleed class, and read medical preparedness before the day you need it.
What's in it
- ETQ Wide tourniquet (Snakestaff Systems)
- Hemostatic gauze: 3 in x 4 yd z-fold, kaolin, X-ray indicator
- Z-fold compressed gauze, 4 ft
- Compression bandage, 4 in
- Slishman pressure wrap
- Sterile abdominal pad
- Trauma dressing
Air, chest and the rest of the body
The injuries that kill quietly
Why it's included
A chest wound that sucks air needs a seal the moment it is found, and an unconscious person needs an airway that stays open: that is the chest seal and the nasal airway with its lubricant. The thermal blanket is for shock and for the cold that follows blood loss, the eye shield protects an eye injury without pressing on it, and burn gel covers the burn that often comes with the same accident.
What's in it
- Chest seal
- Nasopharyngeal airway with lubricating jelly
- Emergency thermal blanket
- Eye shield
- Burn gel
Tools and gloves
What lets you work fast and clean
Why it's included
Trauma shears cut a sleeve or a boot off in seconds without cutting the person. Gloves go on first, every time. The flashlight is for the wound you are treating in the dark, and the marker is for writing the time on the tourniquet, which the next person to treat it will need to know.
What's in it
- Large trauma shears
- Nitrile gloves
- LED flashlight
- Jase mini marker
- Field care educational cards
The Trauma Pill Pack, sold separately
The prescriptions that go with a serious injury
Why it's included
The kit stops the bleeding; the pill pack covers the days after, when infection, swelling, pain and nausea are the problems. It is prescribed through Jase like the Jase Case and rides in the same pouch. My bug-out bag page lists it alongside the kit.
What's in it
- Moxifloxacin: an antibiotic
- Meloxicam: for inflammation
- Acetaminophen: for pain
- Ondansetron: anti-nausea
