On my flood page this is what goes on when the half-mask and the P100s are not enough, and on the chemical weapons page it's the full kit. The CM-8M is the mask; the NBC-77 SOF filter covers chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats; the VK-530 covers smoke and carbon monoxide, which is the one you need in a house fire or a wildfire evacuation. Both thread onto any standard 40 mm NATO respirator, so the filters are not locked to one mask.

Why it's included
A full-face mask protects the eyes as well as the lungs, which matters for tear gas, smoke and anything that burns on contact. The panoramic visor keeps your field of view, the speech diaphragm means you can be understood through it, and it's built for a secure fit over hours, not minutes. The CM-6M on my list is the same family in a tactical cut; this kit pairs the CM-8M with its filters.

Why it's included
This is the filter the chemical weapons page is about: nerve agents, blister agents and the rest of the cloud that arrives before you can leave. Long shelf life, so it sits in the kit for years, and it fits any 40 mm NATO mask. The fire filter
Why it's included
Most people who die in fires die of smoke, and a CBRN filter does nothing for carbon monoxide. The VK-530 does, which makes it the filter for getting out of a burning building or through a wildfire evacuation. MIRA calls it essential for fire rescue and evacuation, and it's the reason this kit is on the flood page rather than only the chemical one.
